Compost and Winter-Amazing

To my utter surprise, the compost bin melted the snow quite nicely. and when I opened the lid yesterday, there was space in there. which means; even with the cold and snow, the bacteria and worms were eating and having a good time.

I can even add more to it; it had been completely full.

so-don;t give up on those compost bins, even if it seems hopeless!

  1. The snow just insulted it while it perked away!!! I need to put some stuff in mine.

  2. insulted it-well, it;s insulted me too! does that mean i am compost?

I put in EVERYTHING. birdie's papers, coffee grounds, paper towels as long as there were no chemicals on it....egg shells and veggie scraps...I pile up cardboard and newspapers in another spot. they are nice and soft if I need to move them on to some spot in the garden.no blowing away.
